17th European grain network meeting, Cracow, 24th-25th March
The European grain network meeting is a regular FOSS event for exchanging information on topical analysis-related subjects.
This year, it will be held in the historic city of Cracow, Poland. The preliminary programme includes a status on the Polish grain and flour market, an update on grain analysis ring tests, current and future developments in chemometrics and the use of image technology in grain quality assessment.
News from the world of standards will cover the revised ISO 712:2009 method for the determination of moisture and how to perform quality assurance of the test weight mass per hl according to three new standards.
On the product front, there will be a presentation on new applications for the Infratec 1241 Grain Analyser in the USA, a look at measuring colour in oats and an update on the new Mosaic network connection.
The event will be held at the Radisson Blu Hotel which lies in the centre of the business and cultural district of the city with close proximity to attractions such as the Royal Wawel Castle, the market square and the world heritage Wieliczka salt mine. It concludes at lunchtime on the 25th with an optional visit to the salt mine.
