FOSS joins the UN Global Compact
FOSS has joined the United Nations Global Compact - a strategic policy initiative for businesses that are committed to aligning their operations and strategies with ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labour, the environment and anti-corruption. With over 8700 corporate participants and other stakeholders from over 130 countries, it is the largest voluntary corporate responsibility initiative in the world.
“Joining the UN Global Compact initiative is a natural step for us, building upon the work that has been done since the company was founded in 1956,” says CEO Torben Ladegaard. “At FOSS, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is very much part of our business philosophy and the products we develop. Many of our analytical instruments have social and environmental benefits, for example, our technology can be used to improve the welfare of farm animals; help make better use of valuable raw materials during the production process; and help farmers determine the right amount of fertilizer to apply to fields.”
As a signatory, FOSS joins many other businesses, including key customers, in adopting a common internationally-recognized framework for addressing sustainability issues. FOSS is committed to incorporating the UN Global Compact into its business operations and reporting annually on progress made against the ten principles.
