Strong interest in wine analysis at ViniTech Bordeaux
Meet FOSS at Hall 1, aisle C, stand 3510
The annual ViniTech show opened today in Bordeaux with many visitors interested in possibilities to test wine with rapid analytical solutions such as the WineScan SO2.
Visitors to the FOSS stand can see how the WineScan tests sulphur dioxide simultaneously with a host of key paramaters of must and wine. Sulphur dioxide is the most commonly measured parameter in winemaking. Regular testing is necessary to achieve optimal dosage in the winemaking process, to comply with regulations and to minimise usage of the preservative.
With a time-to-result for sulphur dioxide of a minute and a half, the new WineScan compares favourably with around 15 minutes per test with existing routine methods or much longer for laboratory reference methods. The system is also considerably more convenient, reducing manual work and associated risks of operator error.
More about the potential of rapid wine analysis
Those not attending the show can catch-up with the latest developments within rapid wine analysis in this report from the FOSS wine conference held earlier this year, also in the city of Bordeaux. Read more here
