NIR solutions to improve feed formulation and meat quality control

Meet FOSS at IPPE Atlanta, stand 7944 and 2459

FOSS is exhibiting a comprehensive range of advanced in-line and bench top near infrared (NIR) analytical solutions at the International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE) January 29th-31st.

Improved feed formulation

NIR analysis is a powerful tool in meeting feed formulation targets. A key solution for feed producers is the ProFoss™ for feed – an in-line process control solution that helps to improve both product quality and use of raw materials. It allows tighter control of feed production based on continuous NIR measurements made directly in the process stream.

Alternatively, feed producers can use benchtop NIR instruments such as the recently-released NIRS™ DS2500. It offers unprecedented NIR accuracy for a broad range of applications, from checking protein content to determining the amount of digestible amino acids for an improved feed conversion ratio.

The NIRS™ DS2500 is complemented by the highly robust, NIRS™ DA1650 analyser for use in the laboratory or in the production environment. It will be on show with the Cyclotec sample mill that provides a reliable basis for testing based on uniform sample preparation.

Getting fat just right

The ProFoss is on show again for meat producers, but this time with a specially designed sample interface to measure meat directly in the process pipe. The well-known FoodScan™ Pro completes the picture as a robust, easy-to-use NIR analyser measuring multiple parameters of meat and with AOAC approval for the FOSS-supplied ANN calibration for fat.

Putting NIR to work

Experts will be participating in the expo and will be available to explain the benefits of NIR analysis in relation to visitors’ specific production challenges within feed and meat production.

The International Production & Processing Expo takes place at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, USA. It is a new industry trade show for the poultry, feed and meat industry, integrating three previous tradeshows; International Poultry Expo (IPE), International Feed Expo (IFE), and AMI’s International Meat Expo (EMI), under one umbrella. The new joint expo will be bringing together over 1,150 exhibitors and an anticipated 25,000 attendees under one roof.
